Selva Maaku
Comfort and sustainability in harmony.
Selva Máaku is a 5.4 acres development that is located half a mile from the outskirts of Sayulita on the Nayarit Riviera in Mexico. It is one mile away from the Pacific Ocean and in the midst of a tropical jungle.
The word Máaku means MANGO in the Wixárika language that is spoken by the original towns in the area.
In order to achieve a low density Urban Residential Environment, the architectural project contemplates only 14 houses, that along with the already existing 12 provide generous spaces for ideal gardens to cultivate green areas and reforest this space with Tommy Atkins and Keiit Mango varieties, besides Papelillo Rojo, Prickly Pear, Neem, Eardrop Tree, amongst other native species in the area.
The implementation of solar energy cells to generate electric power, to heat the water for the housing, as well as the use of the induction stoves in our kitchens and intelligent bathrooms that consume 35% less water than the conventional equipments, are a sample that comfort and sustainability are able to coexist in harmony.
